Scottish & Italian Landscape Prints & Vintage Travel Posters

Photography, Prints & Vintage Travel Posters by Stephen Henry

About Scotland in Frame

Scotland in Frame is the photographic work of Stephen Henry - creating limited edition fine art prints and vintage inspired travel posters rooted in Scotland’s landscapes, coastlines and towns, alongside a growing European body of work from Italy.

Printed in Scotland using museum quality papers and archival inks, each piece is designed for permanence -whether as a considered gift, a statement within a space, or part of a thoughtfully curated collection.

Alongside his own work, Stephen collaborates with selected guest artists, including Dubh Glas by Douglas Nicholson and Dark Edinburgh, extending the collection through distinctive contemporary voices.

From Photograph to Poster

Each vintage travel poster begins with a moment, a stretch of coastline, a harbour at dusk, a town seen in winter light.

The starting point is always a photograph taken in Scotland by Stephen Henry. Observed, composed and captured with intent. From there, the image is carefully reinterpreted.

Details are reduced. Colour is refined. Shadows are simplified into shape. Light becomes graphic.

Mid-century travel posters provide inspiration - bold skies, strong contrasts, balanced composition, however the landscape itself remains the foundation.

Digital tools, including artificial intelligence, are used selectively within the process - not to replace the original photograph, but to assist in shaping tone, texture and structure.

Every final piece remains directed, refined and finished by hand.

The result is not a filter, but a considered reinterpretation.

Designed and printed in Scotland on museum-quality papers with archival inks, each poster is produced to last — a contemporary nod to a much-loved era of travel and place..
